his daughter ‘groped’ in a swimming pool, ‘I can’t imagine what could have happened’

On Thursday, in Ghent, two boys were pulled out of the water of the Rozebroeken swimming pool by the rescuers present before the police took over. As the Nieuwsblad explains, the two minors allegedly harassed and assaulted several girls. Serious facts for which they were auditioned at the police station before being released.

A decision that Frédéric Dupré does not understand. The former professional footballer, who notably worked for Standard and Zulte, is the father of a 13-year-old daughter. A teenager traumatized by a fun afternoon “that turned into a nightmare”. “She was shocked, these guys were very aggressive,” he confided to our Flemish colleagues. Indeed, as she told her dad, the two boys would have “groped” her breasts as well as her genitals.

Incapacity

If Frédéric Dupré welcomes the rapid intervention of the police, not wanting to “imagine what could have happened”, he nevertheless regrets the decision to release them. “I really don’t understand why these boys were released. They are two young people with the status of asylum seekers, the police told me that they would make a statement but nothing else. As a parent, you are powerless against this. The police are only doing their job, the problem is higher. »

The police say the investigation is still ongoing. “Official reports will be submitted and the prosecution will take appropriate action. »
