At the European Youth Archery Championships Francesco Poerio Piterà won silver in the European ranking.
Last week in Lilleshall in Great Britain took place the European Youth Cup, which saw the youth classes of all European nations on the competition field.
Fitarco Italia led by the national technical coordinator Ilario di Buò conquered the third place in the European ranking behind France and Great Britain.
The young archer of the Club Lido di Catanzaro club Francesco Poerio Piterà was present as summoned in the male students’ class of the recurve division, who at the end of the individual qualifications on the two races of the European circuit of Bucharest and Lilleshall scored second place as the sum of points in the absolute classification with a 669 totaled in Bucharest and a 667 in Lilleshall, only behind the French Addis Baptiste.
Last year, always on the two European competitions, the same athlete of the club lido archers had won the bronze.
In the words of the coach Poerio Piterà Edoardo, personal coach of the young athlete, there is satisfaction for the excellent result achieved: “The Italian national archery team, now for our boys is like a big sports family, in which they share experiences and above all socialize with different cultures that are present in these international meetings. The results achieved by the entire Italian team are highly respected, a sign of continuous improvement and evolution by all the federal staff and athletes. I am satisfied with Francesco’s performance, a silver deserved for the work done with the planned training sessions. We had a bit of bad luck in individual and team battles, but that doesn’t take away from the magnificent work and the sporting quality of all our boys. “
