Basketball, the first protagonist sport at the Diputación’s stand – Albacete News

Sancha: “We are always aware of grassroots sports, school sports, listening and analyzing all the proposals that come to us, because that is where the future lies

The sport has great protagonism in the stand of the Provincial Delegation in this Fair of Albacete. A sample of the support of the provincial institution to the clubs and athletes of the Albacete territory. And precisely on that stage, under the motto ‘No Limits: a province of record’, the three most representative basketball teams today have come together: Albacete Basket, CB Almansa and BSR Amiab. It was in a colloquium directed by the journalist Luis Castelo, in which the Deputy for Sports, Daniel Sancha, and the captains of the three teams, Víctor Ruiz, Carles Bivià and Fran Lara, participated, with the presence of players and directors among the assistants.

In addition, in the moments prior to this appointment, the president of the Provincial Council, Santi Cabañero; the head of the regional government, Emiliano García-Page, and the mayor of the city, Emilio Sáez, together with the provincial vice presidents, Amparo Torres and Juanra Amores, and the deputy for Social Services, Juani García, have participated in the exhibition that has taken place.

Daniel Sancha expressed his happiness at being able to talk about sport, “about how well sport works in this province”, indicating that “from the Albacete Provincial Council we follow many sports such as basketball, putting all our resources so that it continues to grow. In the Diputación we are always attentive to grassroots sports, school sports, listening and analyzing all the proposals that come to us, because that is where the future lies. Sport is the backbone, sport is values, it is a healthy way of life. So from here we invite everyone to practice sport”.

The Deputy for Sports stressed that “it is a pride to have these three elite teams because they are the image of our province.” In this regard, Sancha recalled that Albacete is the only province that has two teams in LEB Oro and one in the top wheelchair basketball competition: “We are the envy of other provinces.”

Presentation of the Diputación de Albacete Trophy

The sports colloquium has also served to present the Albacete Provincial Trophy, a match that will be played next Saturday, September 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Park Pavilion, and that will face Albacete Basket and Almansa Basketball Club. An event designed so that “fans can enjoy this beautiful sport with two great teams”.

An Albacete Provincial Council Trophy that is now a reality “thanks to the work of the Provincial Council’s Sports Services”, Daniel Sancha stressed. In turn, the deputy also recalled the dispute of the first edition of the Spanish Super Cup, which will be held in Albacete, will be broadcast on television and “will serve to give visibility to sport and the city.”

Two ‘gold’ teams

Albacete Basket and CB Almansa are counting down the days to start the season in LEB Oro, the second category of Spanish basketball. For the people of Albacete it will be the first campaign after the promotion achieved last season with David Varela at the helm of the team.

The Almanseños, on the other hand, will face their fourth year in ‘Gold’ always with the same objective, to ensure permanence as soon as possible. And they will do so with the main novelty of Tino Ugidos on the bench, after the departure of coach Rubén Perelló, one of the architects of the great success of CB Almansa in recent years.

To revalidate the titles of 2022

For its part, BSR Amiab had an outstanding season in 2022. Champion of the Champions League and the League. A historic double for a team that proudly carries the name of Albacete wherever it goes. This campaign comes with new features, including the return of Abraham Carrión to the bench, but with the same objectives: to fight for all the titles at stake.

Three teams that have and will have the support of the Albacete Provincial Council this season and that have been the first protagonists of the sports activity of the stand of the provincial institution of the Fairgrounds, receiving a small detail from the hands of the deputy. Tomorrow it will be the gymnastics turn with Jesús Carballo and Noemí Romero. Soccer, cycling, chess and athletics will come later.
