Offensive lineman Quentin Nelson will no doubt be on fire for the Colts’ opener on Sunday, as he signed a four-year contract extension with the Indianapolis squad on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old athlete will receive $80 million in total, including $60 million guaranteed, according to the NFL Network. This average of $20 million per year makes him the highest paid guard in the NFL.
Chosen with the sixth round of talks overall in the 2018 draft, by the Colts, Nelson quickly established himself as one of the most dominant players at his position. In his rookie year, he only allowed two quarterback sacks. He has allowed as many in the last three seasons combined, including one in 2021.
Nelson and the Colts will open their 2022 campaign against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
