Los Dallas Cowboys maintained their status as the most valuable sports team in the world for the sixth consecutive year, according to a list published by Forbeswhich was dominated by the clubs of the National Football League (NFL).
The Cowboys of the NFL, who unseated the Spanish soccer club Real Madrid from the top spot on the list in 2017, had a $8 billion valuationwhich represents a jump of 40% compared to last year.
According to Forbes, 30 of the 32 NFL teams were on the list of the 50 most valuable teamswhich he attributed to the fact that the league has the most profitable media deal of sport worth 112,000 million dollars until 2032.
Los New England Patriots of the NFL (6,400 million dollars) and the current champion of the Super Bowl, Los Angeles Rams (6,200 million dollars), complete the first three positions.
Aside from the NFL, the other teams on the list of 50, with a cutoff value of $3.1 billion, came from European soccer (eight), the National Basketball Association or NBA (seven), and Major League Baseball or MLB (five).
Real Madrid, the best in football
Los New York Yankees (6,000 million dollars) led the MLB and ranked fourth on the list, the New York Knicks (5.8 billion dollars) were the first club in the NBA and the sixth on the list, while the Real Madrid ($5.1 billion), ranked 13th, was the most valuable soccer club.
The eight football clubs on the list come from the English Premier League (four), the Spanish League (two), the French Ligue 1 (one) and the German Bundesliga (one).
