The City of Palma Basketball Trophy, which reaches its 52nd edition this Sunday, will be held at the Son Moix Municipal Sports Palace.
As explained by the Palma City Council this Tuesday in a press release, in this case the Fibwi Palma will face off against the Lucentum of Alicante.
The mayor of Palma, José Hila, encouraged the fans, during the presentation ceremony, to enjoy the match. “I want to invite all citizens to attend the City of Palma to support the team”, said the mayor.
For his part, the president of Fibwi Palma, Guillermo Boscana, recalled that it is the oldest trophy in the city of team sports, “a pride” that makes them “continue with the organization”.
“It’s a motivation to play this match with a top category team, the only goal we have is that next year we can say that we are a Gold Spanish Basketball League (LEB) team”, he added.
Currently, Fibwi Palma competes in LEB Plata after eight consecutive seasons in LEB de Oro. Its rival, Lucentum de Alicante, is one of the teams, according to Cort, that have positioned themselves as favorites for the new season.
