Extreme and Minor League Baseball are driving technology innovation in the stadium

As a new innovation partner, Extreme supports MiLB in introducing new technologies with powerful solutions for Wi-Fi, analytics and SD-WAN.

(Nasdaq: EXTR), a leading provider of cloud-based networking solutions, announces that it has been selected as an official technology innovation partner of Minor League Baseball (MiLB), the governing body of professional baseball leagues below the major leagues in the United States. In this role, Extreme will oversee the testing of new stadium and in-game technologies at MiLB’s stadiums. In addition, Extreme has been named the Official Wi-Fi, Analytics and WAN Edge Solution Provider for a five-year partnership. As part of the agreement, the MiLB ExtremeCloud™ SD-WAN to establish a secure connection for the exchange of important information between the teams and the regional training facilities.

Secure SD-WAN for cross-team connectivity: With ExtremeCloud SD-WAN, all 120 teams at MiLB can easily and securely exchange data – including player performance data, match analysis videos and other confidential information. Extreme helps network administrators reduce operational complexity by optimizing thousands of applications and dynamically routing traffic to ensure high quality for critical applications such as voice and video.

Increasingly technology-supported stadium experiences and game processes: Extreme is the MiLB stadiums with a High performance connectivity via Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, which allows testing of new in-game technologies that improve the fan experience and streamline game operations.

Powerful Wi-Fi and detailed analysis: The MiLB will also provide its stadiums and clubs ExtremeAnalytics™ to offer. The solution provides visibility into network performance, fan-side usage and stadium operations to improve the experience for fans and staff. With the help of ExtremeAnalytics, MiLB will be able to more accurately assess network performance and better test new technologies. This includes monitoring the performance of new applications, assessing the acceptance of new technologies based on fan usage and tracking mobile data usage during games.

Extreme Networks is also the official Wi-Fi solution provider for Major League Baseball (MLB), which includes the two North American professional baseball leagues. Extreme powers MLB baseball stadiums with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi analytics, providing Wi-Fi connectivity in the bullpens (warm-up rooms), dugouts (guy bench areas) and press booths at all 30 MLB stadiums.
