SANTO DOMINGO.– Yeison Rivera managed to hit key baskets in the last two minutes to be the hero, along with the North American reinforcement Quintin Alexander, of this Friday’s triumph of the Rafael Barias club against his counterpart from San Lázaro, 88-86, in the match that closed the day played at the Palacio de los Deportes Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto.
Rivera (El Alemán) got a penetrating basket with 7:5 seconds left in the last final period that put the barianos ahead 88-86, and that is how the score finally remained.
Previously, Rivera had tied the actions 82-82 with 1:37 remaining in the game, in the best night of his history as a player in the current Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District, in its 46th version, which is dedicated to César Cedeño and has in option to the BanReservas Cup.
The American led the Barias offense with a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds, Rivera closed with 16 points, five catches and seven assists, Graig Victor II had 12 and seven turnovers, Brayan Ramírez 11 and 10 by Manuel Fortune.
The best scorers for San Lázaro, who had six players with double figures in points, were Erick Merán, the Frink brothers: Alanzo (nine rebounds) and Jerome 11 each, Adonis Henríquez 10, Alex Abreu, Lamarshall Corbett 11 and Edgar Tejeda 10.
Barias has a record of 1-0 and Lazareños 0-1, in Group B.
The first half was won by the Lazareños 41-38, after a first half that Barias dominated 24-17, and in the second Jobo Bonito’s team revealed themselves with an advantage of 10, 24-14.
In the third half that San Lázaro won, 26-23, he maintained the advantage on the board 67-61 after two shots of three scored in a row by Erick Merán, to come off the scoreboard when the game was tied 61-61, with 1: 14 on the clock.

Richard Bautista leads Footprints over El Millón
Richard Bautista led the victory this Friday of the Huellas del Siglo club over El Millón, with a score of 75-64, on the second date of the regular series of the XLVI Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District, held at the Palacio de los Deportes Profesor Virgilio Naughty Soto.
“Manito” Bautista was the top scorer of the match and of his team with 17 points, to which he added seven rebounds and six assists.
The star point guard of the Cristo Rey squad was helped in the offense by Ángel Puello with 12 points, the North American reinforcement Anthony Johnson had 11 baskets and nine rebounds, and his compatriot Darryl Palmer scored 10 units.
For El Millón (El Yireh) their best man was Samuel Lara with 13 points and imported Alexander Campbell had 10 points and four rebounds.
With the victory, Huellas is 1-0, while the millionaires are 0-1, in a day corresponding to Group B, in the 2022 tournament it is dedicated to Don César Cedeño and has the BanReservas Cup as an option.

The district fair will continue this Sunday with the first of three Sunday days of four games in the regular round, at the Palacio de los Deportes Virgilio Travieso Soto.
Starting at 11:00 in the morning, the teams of the San Carlos and Bameso clubs will play; and at 1:00 in the afternoon the San Lázaro groups will do the same before El Millón.
At 4:00 in the afternoon the squads of Los Prados will be measured against Mauricio Báez, and will close the activities of the day Huellas del Siglo versus Rafael Barias
