We had to wait nearly 40 years to see Beursault again in the Gers. A little-known discipline of archery, it is nevertheless the oldest. Traditional shooting from the military training of franc archers in the 15th century, it consists of shooting an arrow at a 45 cm target positioned 50 m away, picking it up and starting again in the other direction for 40 arrows. Thus, in addition to having shot 40 arrows, the archer will have covered more than 2 kilometres.
More than 30 archers made the trip for this return, including 26 from Gers, because in addition to qualifying for the French championship, the competition counted as the Gers championship thanks to the Gers archery department committee. The Archers of La Hire, in addition to having meticulously prepared the reception of the competitors, were also present on the shooting range. They were 7 at the start and they distinguished themselves with 7 podiums including 6 titles of Gers champions: Jules in the youngest, Guillaume in e 1, Brice in senior 2, Marie in senior 3, Sandrine in senior 2, compound bow, and Damien in senior 2, compound bow; Adèle, among the youngest, does not fail and becomes vice-champion of the Gers.
Among the Gers archers, 6 won their qualification for the French Championships. The award ceremony at the end of the day was carried out with Dominique Cadeillan, president of the Department Committee, Françoise Martinez, first deputy mayor of Condom, and David Taupiac, deputy for the second district of Gers. In gratitude, the latter were offered the headgear of the Company; the Gascon beret embroidered with the Archers de La Hire logo.
