For someone who lives in a country where three large earthquakes have occurred on the same date, but in three different years, it is almost impossible not to believe in situations that escape from simple coincidences and that lean towards the inexplicable.
Mexico City has few connections with Cleveland, in fact there is not even a direct flight that joins these two metropolises that in the recent past they experienced events that are unlikely in any other corner of the planet.
While in the capital of Mexico it trembled again for the third time on September 19, something that according to complex mathematics only had a 0.000751 percent chance of happeningIn Cleveland, his professional football team blew a 13-point lead with less than two minutes left in the game against the Jets. something that had not happened in 2229 games or what is the same 0.4 percent of it happening.
The last team to lose that lead? The Browns in week 9 of the 2001 season against the Bears.
There are magical or tragic things that exist a little beyond comprehension, the matches of the National Football League They have been one of them for a long time.
So far in the nascent campaign, 12 games have been decided by three points or less, more than any previous league season in the first two weeks.
Until before Sunday Night, seven of the 13 games were won by underdogs, or the underdog team in bettingincluding unlikely victories by the Jets, Dolphins and Cardinals who pulled off comebacks worthy of an NFL classics nomination.
While we wait for the shaking to stop in Mexico and for Cleveland to break its long-standing relationship with sports catastrophes, we take a look at what’s coming.
In Week 3, no team opened with a double-digit betting advantage and as we already mentioned, close matches are becoming a hallmark of the league.
MATCH OF THE WEEK
Bills (-5.5) at Miami:
Entering Week 3 of the NFL sOnly six teams remain undefeated and unless a tie happens on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, the Bills or the Dolphins will have to leave the club without defeat. The win will leave just one of these two organizations atop the AFC East.
The Bills, number one contenders for the next Super Bowl by the American Conference, in recent years have proclaimed themselves the owner of this rivalry with six wins in a row. However, in none of them was Tyreek Hillwide receiver who can boast a recent victorious past over Buffalo as he is a former member of the Chiefs who eliminated them from the postseason in consecutive years.
Miami’s new head coach, Mike McDaniel has been able in a short time to give the team a new face helped by the speed of Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Tua Tagolvailoa threw for four fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull off a sensational Week 2 upset.
The Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium will need the explosiveness of their offense to sustain a duel with Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills Mafia stampede who have scored at least 30 points in each of their wins. Allen is 7-1 against Miami.
Tua leads the NFL with 739 passing yards and Miami ranks first in the AFC with 427.0 yards per game, while Buffalo has allowed the fewest yards in the AFC at 215.0 per game.
Tyreek Hill leads with 284 receiving yards while Diggs has 270.
The last 20 victories that the Bills have achieved have been with a double-digit advantage.. When Buffalo wins he does so by crushing everything in his path. Formerly considered an unstarred team, the Bills are lighting up with their execution from both sides of the ball.
Bills 33-20 Dolphins
SURE PICK
Jaguars en Chargers (-7):
At the start of Thursday Night Football’s Amazon-exclusive broadcasts, the Chargers slipped into the loss column for the first time this season despite their quarterback’s bravery Justin Herbert who came out with injured rib cartilage. Surely the extra days will serve Herbert along with Keenan Allen and Donald Parham Jr., who missed last night’s game with hamstring injuries.
Last week I predicted that Tom Brady would finally break the yoke the Saints had placed on him since he landed in Tampa Bay and it happened.
The Chargers game needs Justin Herbert to be a safe pick. If the franchise quarterback doesn’t line up behind center, the Jaguars can fight to the bitter end.
The Jaguars haven’t won a road game since December 2019. Trevor Lawrence is completing 68.1 percent of his passes for 510 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Defensively, Jacksonville is allowing 14 points and 304 yards per game..
Jaguars 17-30 Chargers

UPSET
Lions en Vikings (-5.5):
Each of the last three games in the series has been decided by two points. Jared Goff has thrown for 471 yards, six touchdowns and one interception on 57.7 passing hundreds, while D’Andre Swift leads the Lions with 200 rushing yards. Last week’s Monday Night doubleheader saw a completely different Vikings team than the one that pummeled the Packers in the season opener. Now, the Vikings come in with a short week and face a Lions team that is hungry and playing pretty well right now.
Lions 20-17 Vikings
TWO MINUTE DRILL
Steelers en Browns (-4.5):
The Steelers in the first two weeks entered the field without a clear plan. Against the Bengals it worked, but last Sunday it didn’t. Steelers 17-20 Cleveland
Saints (-3) en Panthers:
Baker Mayfield continues to carry karma as big as the one that exists in Cleveland. Despite being several miles away, he can’t shake the Browns’ ghost losers. Saints 24-13 Carolina
Texans en Bears (-2.5):
Lovie Smith returns with Houston (0-1-1) to take on the franchise he led to a Super Bowl berth in 2006. It will be a nostalgic game for Smith, but the Texans will stick around for at least another week, without holding a victory. Texans 17-23 Bears
Chiefs (-6.5) en Colts:
The Colts have a lot of work to do after that ugly shutout loss at the hands of the Jaguars and Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs won’t miss their last game of the year in September to add one more win to their collection. Chiefs 38- 21 Colts
Ravens (-3) at Patriots:
Lamar Jackson arrives with revenge on his mind after allowing the Dolphins to come back from a game they led by 21 points. Ravens 27-21 Patriots
Bengals (-4.5) at Jets:
The Bengals are looking to keep from falling 0-3 for the first time since 2019 and the Jets are enjoying a few days above .500. Cincinnati have won five of their last eight road games and aren’t as bad as they appear. Bengals 30-14 Jets
Raiders (2-5) and Titans:
Both organizations come from being embarrassed. The Raiders let them steal a win at home and the Titans dwarfed the Bills in just three quarters. Raiders 24-17 Titans
Eagles (-6.5) en Commanders:
Fight for the NFC East, a division that in the last 18 seasons has had a different champion. The Eagles demolished the Vikings last Monday Night and there is no indication that situation cannot be repeated against the Commanders. Eagles 30-21 Commanders
Rams (-3.5) en Cardinals:
The two teams arrive on the same path to victory, but on different roads. The Rams battled it out at home against the Falcons while the Cardinals had a win that could be considered double the way they got out of Las Vegas by stealing from the casinos. Rams 24-27 Cardinals.
Falcons and Seahawks (-1.5):
There is not much to say about this meeting, much less to see. They are simply participants this year in the NFL. Falcons 17-14 Seahawks
Packers en Buccaneers (-1.5):
No game in NFL history has featured starting quarterbacks with six combined Super Bowl MVPs … until Sunday. Aaron Rodgers (Super Bowl XLV MVP) brings the Packers to Raymond James Stadium to play Tom Brady (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX, LI, LV) and the Buccaneers. By simple mathematics TB12 has won more and with it I stay. Packers 24-27 Buccaneers
49ers (-1)en Broncos:
The 49ers proved they can be a legitimate team when they’re not playing in a monsoon. 49ers 24-20 Broncos
Cowboys en Giants (-2.5):
The Giants are looking for a 3-0 start, while Dallas is on another trip against adversity. Cowboys 24-30 Giants
