Juan Pablo Ruiz took silver in the Pan American Judo Cup

Keep making a difference. Juan Pablo Ruiz was mounted, this Thursday afternoon, in second place on the podium of the Pan American Cup that is being played in the city of Bogotá. The Atlantic judoka was one of the best in the Junior category and was very close to giving the surprise with the first place.

Juan Pablo, who has already stood out representing the department of Atlántico in various competitions, easily defeated the Chilean representative in the semifinals and beat Elvis Castro of the Dominican Republic in a frantic final. However, it was his opponent who ended up winning the duel and received the most recognition.

“I feel motivated by everything I have done so far. It has been a long process and getting to where we are has not been an easy road, I want to continue working to represent the department and the entire country in the best way,” Juan Pablo Ruiz told EL HERALDO.

The young athlete mentioned that he is aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and is preparing hard to leave the name of Colombia at the top.

“I have had a very hard preparation, because we want to increase our level with a view to the main objective, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Some highly demanding tournaments are coming and the goal will always be to reach the top,” he concluded.

Juan Pablo Ruiz wants to continue testing his abilities and, starting this Sunday, he will compete in the same Pan American Cup that is taking place in Bogotá, but this time in the senior category.
