NORMAN — The Oklahoma men’s tennis concluded their weekend at a pair of tournaments in California and Tennessee.
Nathan Han and Alex Martinez represented the Sooners at the Battle of the Bay in San Francisco, Calif., where they reached the doubles quarterfinals and collected five singles victories.
Han advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Julian DeSousa (UCSB) 6-2, 6-2, while Martinez reached the consolation finals, clinching a ranked 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 win over No. 66 Lui Maxted (TCU) along the way.
On the other side of country, four Sooners competed at the Commodore Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
The squad tallied 10 wins on the Vanderbilt campus, with Mark Mandlik highlighting the weekend with a trip to the finals.
Senior Justin Schlageter also grabbed a ranked win over No. 97 Marcus McDaniel (Georgia Tech), 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
The Sooners will continue their fall slate at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 1-9.
