Thomas Etcheverry eliminated in the first round the sixth seed of the ATP 250 of Tel Aviv: this is russian Aslan Karatsev39 in the world, whom he beat 6-2, 6-7(0) and 6-4 and thus take the most important victory so far in his career.

However, the emotion that the Argentine showed after winning the match point was not exactly due to the weight of the victory; but for something that goes beyond sport and approaches the familiar: a few days ago his sister passed away.

“I want to dedicate this victory to my sister, who I lost last Friday”was the message of the South American who will now face the also Russian Roman Safiullin in search of the quarterfinals.
