First half

The Parisians kick off the match at the Futebol Campus in Seixal. Noha Lemina is launched in depth and collides with the Lisbon defense, he obtains a first corner in this part (2 ‘). The start of the match was balanced, Benfica turned the ball well and the two teams got organized (4′). The game leans clearly on the left side on the Portuguese side, with Diego Moreira already very restless. El Hannach had to work hard to stop him (7’). The first big opportunity is in Paris! Served by Lemina near the area, Housni plays the goalkeeper of the SLB but is caught by a defender when the goal seemed very close (9 ‘).

Benfica responds in stride and combines in small spaces. Joao Neves finds an angle of strike but his attempt goes well above (11 ‘). The Portuguese settle in the half of the field of ¨SG, the Parisian defense is holding out for the moment but the SLB is technically easy (14 ‘). Hugo Félix brought the first scare to Louis Mouquet’s cages with a free kick which started well but ended up next to the right post (16’).

The first twenty minutes are difficult for PSG, dominated technically and in ball possession. However, the Paris block remains well organized (20′). Fernandez-Veliz contains Luis Semedo well with an excellent tackle, good intervention from the defender (21′). on the corner that follows, Mouquet makes a first save in this meeting and captures a header that lacks power from Diego Moreira. The Parisians multiply the faults, Bagbema offers a new free kick to the Lisbon people, who find it difficult to negotiate them well (25 ‘). The referee gives the players a cool break, it is hot in Portugal.

Already two warnings on the Portuguese side: After Diogo Ferreira, Luis Semedo also receives a yellow (28 ‘). It was Luis Semedo’s turn to try his luck from afar, it was the ninth Portuguese shot of the match (43′). Housni is served in the area but the striker is immediately squeezed by the Benfica defense, a complicated first half for the 17-year-old striker (45’). Second half-time :

The game resumes, with a change to note since Queyrell Tchicamboud takes the place of Noha Lemina. The Parisians started better than in the first half and settled higher on the pitch (48′). Bagbema serves Tchicamboud between the lines, it takes another intervention at the feet of the Benfica goalkeeper (51 ‘). Magnificent action from PSG! We were close to seeing one of the goals of the year (53′). Mouquet had to respond straight away and intervened on a strike from Fereira, the encounter gaining momentum (54’).

The first quarter of an hour of this second half is almost more interesting than the entire first 45 minutes. Paris woke up and offered real opposition to Benfica (58′). Benfica is still in the game too, it goes from one goal to another and it takes a good Fernandez-Veliz to cut off a Portuguese attack (61′). Change on both sides. For Paris, it is Diawara who takes the place of Bagbema in the middle (63′). Fernandez-Veliz headed off another dangerous ball (66′). On a free kick that seems innocuous, Mouquet reads the trajectory badly, it could have been expensive for the Parisians (68 ‘). The opportunities are multiplying for Benfica who lack efficiency (69’).

The intensity falls a little after about twenty minutes with an important rhythm. The Parisians reorganized a bit (73′). Housni is again flagged offside by a hair’s breadth, it’s all for naught for the PSG striker who was leaving to play a 1v1 with a Portuguese defender (74′). On a very effective one-two, Benfica’s attack goes to the goal but El Hannach makes a very high-flying intervention! (77′). The PSG defender has also hurt himself and calls the doctors.
