The ATP Challenger Tour lands for the second consecutive year in Ambato, Ecuador, to make a tournament of 80 points for the world ranking and $53,120 distributed in prizes. In 2021, the Argentine Thiago Tirante champion of the first edition was consecrated. The competition will take place on clay courts of the Club Tungurahua from October 17 to 23.
This will be the second tournament in Ecuador it’s from the season. The first was in Salinason hard courts, in the month of April with a title for emilio gomez. After Hintthe South American country will end the season with the Guayaquil Challenger from October 31 to November 6.
Among the most outstanding names that will go for the title of Ambato The Big Citythe presence of the Peruvian stands out John Paul Varillas and the Argentine Facundo Bagnis, as top candidates. In addition, a total of seven albicelestes will play. Also, the organization granted wild cards to Ecuadorians Alvaro Guillen Meza, Andres Andrade and Cayetano March. From the classification the locals will try to join Patricio Alvarado and Daniel Espin.
The days in the Club Tungurahua will start at 10, from the first round to the quarterfinals. Then, the semifinals will start at 11 and the grand final of the Ambato Challenger will be next Sunday from 12:30. The televising of the tournament will be in charge of TC Television and DirecTV in Ecuador.
