The judo of Porto Viro, branded Eurobody gym, has also left its mark in Piedmont. Precisely at Palamaggiore di Leinì (Turin), where they were assigned the titles of Italian Champion in the kata specialty.
An away match in which the Champions were unable to participate Andrea Fregnan and Stefano Corcioni, due to the injury to his left shoulder that the former is carrying out from the European Championships in Croatia held in May. And then space for the rest of the squad. That is, to couples formed by Italo Pezzolato and Vanni Bergantin (in category A1, reserved for athletes over 1 Dan and who have already participated in the Grand Prix), from Matteo and Alessandro Sgobbi (father and son in A2, in which judoka aged 16 and over of any belt rank can participate), to finish with the Junior Katame No Kata Tour; category for beginner athletes, for which the Eurobody presented itself with the thirteen year olds Vittoria Scabin from Laura Marangoni.
And it is at the neck of the Sgobbi-Family and of the two young promises of the Portovirese judo who have gone the specialty gold medals; the former winning 366.50 points, while for Scabin and Marangoni their 152.50 (a truly remarkable score for this category) earned the compliments of the judges and technicians present. On the other hand, some physical problems affected the race of the Pezzolato-Bergantin duo, eventually bringing home a 357.50 which still earned him a fifth place.
But the comment on these Italian Championships of the master Fabrizio Gazzignato can only pour satisfaction with both hands: “Both for having created an ever-growing group, for having transmitted my passion for judo and for having athletes who, with commitment and sacrifice, they always manage to bring the name of Eurobody and Porto Viro to high levels ”. But there is barely time to breathe, because the tatami is always hot; in fact, on November 13 he goes to Siena. In the city of the Palio, the Italian Cup and the Tournament of the Regions of kata judo are up for grabs.
