At the Swabian Judo Championships for under 13s, Anton Ruf from TSV Lindau easily won the runner-up title. Lisa Petersen came fifth at her competition premiere in Memmingen, Charlotte Janz was seventh. Girls and boys were mixed in the weight classes for the first time.
After his opening victory with a spotless technique against a fighter from JC Augsburg, Anton Ruf (up to 33 kilograms) met a Lindenberger judoka. The TSV Lindau fighter achieved the next victory with a hip throw and a foot technique. According to the TSV, his fight in the third round lasted only three seconds: a well-executed hip throw brought Ruf into the final. But a strong fighter from Friedberg was waiting there. The Lindauer attacked bravely, but was then countered and caught in a hold. In the end, Ruf was happy about second place and qualification for the southern Bavarian championships.
Charlotte Janz’s weight class (36 kg) was very well occupied with 15 judokas. The TSV fighter clearly won the first fight with two throws against a boy from Friedberg. In the two duels that followed, however, the boys were a little stronger that day. “With seventh place in this strong field, however, Charlotte showed that she can be reckoned with in the future,” says the Lindau statement.
Lisa Petersen with a successful competition premiere
Lisa Petersen (44 kg), who competed in judo for the first time, won with a nice hip throw against a girl from JC Augsburg. In the second fight she had no chance against the later tournament winner from SV Gold-Blau Augsburg. In the small final, the woman from Lindau had to admit defeat to a judoka from the SV Königsbrunn police. With fifth place, Petersen not only did very well in her first tournament, she also qualified for the southern Bavarian championships.
