Sanremo. Nicole Di Michele of Budo Sanremo, coached by the Federal coach Nicola Gianforteparticipated with the Ligurian Judo representative at the prestigious Koroska Cupstaged last weekend at the Sports Hall di Slovenj Gradec in Slovenia.
570 athletes from 22 different countries showed a very high technical level, which is almost a foregone conclusion given the participation of medaled athletes in the last world championship.
An excellent performance of Nichole Di Michele and a constant search for the ippon (the victory before the limit in Judo) allowed her to overcome all the opponents by giving up only in a very hard-fought final for the gold.
Present with the Ligurian representative at the competition Jody Di Michele, of Budo Sanremo, who, despite an unfavorable draw, faces the match with determination, taking the lead against a very strong opponent, already gold in Europe and seventh in the last European championship. The advantage is not enough to overcome the opponent then winner of the category, the recoveries are not easy and Jody gives up in the first round against the Canadian national vice champion.
“I am satisfied with both the performance and the attitude that the boys have had in such an important competition but we are not relying on the results obtained and we are already preparing the next appointments with the whole Budo group”, declares the coach of the boys and companion of the representative Nicola Gianforte.
