Doncic adds 41 in triple double; Mavs beat Nets in overtime

NEW YORK (AP) — Luka Doncic had 41 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds, in addition to making the plays for three 3-pointers in overtime as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Brooklyn Nets 129-125 on Thursday.

Doncic found Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber and Reggie Bullock to hit 3-pointers in overtime for Dallas, which built a nine-point lead and earned its first road win this season.

Also, the Slovenian Doncic hit two shots in overtime, to be the tenth player in NBA history with a triple double and 40 points in the same duel.

Kyrie Irving had 39 points and Kevin Durant added 37 for the Nets, who have run into some of the NBA’s most dynamic players this week and been unable to neutralize them.

First it was Ja Morant, who had 38 points in Memphis, and then it was Giannis Antetokounpo, who had 43 on Wednesday in Milwaukee.

This time it was Doncic, who had scored more than 30 points in each of the first three games and has now reached 40 for the first time this season.

The game was briefly interrupted in overtime when a fan threw a glass that appeared to contain ice and it landed on the court near the Dallas dugout.
