Uljin-gun (Governor Son Byeong-bok) successfully held the ’50th Uljin-gun People’s Unity Sports Festival’, a festival of harmony among Uljin-gun and people on the 29th.

Hosted by Uljin-gun and organized by Uljin-gun Athletic Association, the event was attended by 2,000 citizens at the auxiliary stadium of Uljin Sports Complex and participated in a total of 12 events including gateball (group jump rope, short marathon, cheerful soccer, shoe archery, athletics, tug-of-war, strength contest, badminton). · Table tennis, tennis, soccer) events, and 1,500 players selected from 10 towns and villages participated and competed fiercely.

It was not held for the past 3 years due to the typhoon and Corona 19, but as it was held for the first time in 4 years, it showed the true essence of a sports festival in name and reality, and it became a place for the citizens to laugh and enjoy, and to be liberated from their weary daily life for a while.

Joo Seong-yeol, president of Uljin-gun Sports Complex, said, “We ask for active interest and participation from the citizens of the county for the successful hosting of the 61st Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival by striving to promote the health and sports of the county people.”

Uljin County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “There were many difficulties in life due to typhoons, Corona 19, and large wildfires, but I am proud that the people of the county are overcoming difficulties and moving toward hope with a unified mind. I will do my best.”
Meanwhile, as a result of the tournament, the overall championship was won by the Geunnam-myeon team, the runner-up was the Jukbyeon-myeon team, the 3rd place was the Maehwa-myeon team, and the Geumgang Song-myeon team won the entry prize.
