Organized by the Basketball Federation in cooperation with the University Sports Federation and attracting a lot of attention last year, ÜniLig’s 2022-2023 Season starts on 14 November.

At the meeting held last Friday in the Basketball Federation, accompanied by Ali Tüzünkan and Ziya Tüzel in charge of ÜniLig, the Preliminary Qualification Group and Classification Group draws were drawn.

The Preliminary Group is organized by the ‘Double Elimination’ method, as it was last year. According to this method, the fixture is rearranged according to the result of each match and 2 (two) matches are played according to the principle of losing out. As a result of the draw, the schedule for the first matches in the qualifying group is as follows.

  1. European Leadership University – University of Kyrenia

  2. Final International University – European University of Lefke

The winners of these matches will then face Bahçeşehir Cyprus University and Middle East Technical University, respectively. The 2 teams to be determined as a result of the matches, which are expected to last approximately 2 weeks, will join the following teams that took part in Final 4 last year. UniLig will be played with 6 teams in 2 halves and finally in Final 4 format.

  2. Eastern Mediterranean University

  3. Near East University

  4. Girne American University

The regular season in UniLig is scheduled to start on November 30.
