The best national badminton returned to Pontevedra, with the dispute of the third day of the Division of Honor league, which pitted Ravachol Pontevedra against CB Benalmádena. The CGTD pavilion was the scene of a very even confrontation where the local team finally won a very important victory.
The match began with the mixed doubles, in which Manuel Brea and Elena Fernández fell to Marc Cardona and Elena Lorenzo (3-11, 11-9, 7-11 and 6-11). In the women’s doubles, Georgina Bland and Ana Carbón faced Elena Lorenzo and the Danish Nikoline Laugsen in another match of maximum equality, which fell to the Andalusian side by a tight 7-11, 10-11 and 9-11. In the men’s, victory for Javier Sánchez and Jacobo Fernández over Jaromir Fojtasek and Antonio Martín (11-2, 11-10 and 11-5).
With the adverse marker, the individual rounds began. Georgina Bland remains unbeatable, beating Lucía Galvin, and Jacobo Fernández put Ravachol ahead after beating Marc Cardona from the Balearic Islands. In the final round of singles, Javier Sánchez had a great confrontation against Antonio Martín, whom he defeated 11-7, 11-1 and 11-6.
Finally, Ana Carbón faced the Danish Nikoline Laugsen and, despite the theoretical superiority of the visiting player, Carbón completed an exceptional match, to end up forcing the fourth set, in which she gave up by the minimum.
