JICA Kansai Director Izuru Kimura

Based on JICA’s knowledge and network of international cooperation, we are honored to be able to further strengthen our relationship with Egypt and contribute to the learning of children and citizens studying in Tenri City. Looking ahead to the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo, we would like to contribute to building even more organic relationships with overseas countries. (Director Kimura, JICA Kansai)

At the time of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, we accepted pre-training camps as a host town for Egyptian judo before the coronavirus crisis began, but unfortunately we were unable to accept camps during the tournament period due to the influence of the coronavirus. We would like to continue two-way exchanges with Egypt, not just accepting the camp as a host town. (Mayor Namikawa, Tenri City)

Supporting the Egyptian national judo team is very much in line with the development of global human resources through sports, which is one of the pillars of our university’s education. Since the 1950s, Tenri University has been sending its graduates to the French Judo Federation as instructors. I would be very grateful if I could spread the knowledge of the students while making a contribution. (Tenri University President Nagao)
