A visiting para shooting champion

Wednesday was the third “Inclusive Meeting” organized by the Regional Institute for young deaf people (IRJS) Raymond-Barberot. After meeting Raphael Ourednik, world champion in judo for the deaf, sponsor of the organization, and Maëna Million, member of the French rhythmic gymnastics team, the students of the Education Section for hearing impaired children with disabilities associates (SEEDAHA), as well as young people from various medico-social establishments in Loiret, welcomed William Tornetto, member of the French shooting team.

William Tornetto vise les JO 2024

Graduated from USC Entente chapelloise, where he practices prone rifle shooting 10 meters air and 50 meters 22LR, he has been setting records since 2015, when he won the bronze medal at the French championship. William Tornetto is doing everything to participate in the 2024 Olympics in para shooting. He trains at the Gien club, with Nicole Michoux, bronze medalist at the Sidney Olympics. And his parents, Nathalie and Sébastien, themselves sports shooters at La Chapelle, assist him. It can fire up to 2,000 pellets per week.

As usual, the organization team had done things well, transforming the large room of the institute into a shooting range so that each young person could learn about this sporting discipline, which requires calm, concentration and mastery of self. After listening with interest to the journey of this high-level athlete, everyone was eager to aim for the targets. A great satisfaction for Sylvain Brulaire, professor of adapted physical activities and initiator of this event labeled Impact 2024.

Moreover, he and the entire management team are already preparing for the big Inclusive Week which will take place at the beginning of June 2023. On the program, sports tournaments, cultural outings and festive moments alongside the Paul-Doumer and Jean-Moulin schools, the Max-Jacob college and other establishments in France, thanks to the generosity of partners such as the City, the Department and the Region, but also private partners.

Until then, new meetings are planned, on November 30 and December 7 with the little ones, on November 15 and December 13 with those of the Education and Special Education Section (SEES), and on December 7 with the adults.
