Later, Víctor Mendoza connected a hit to the right and Sebastián Valle, brought the third with a new hit to the same garden. From there, Juan Carlos Gamboa came with a single to the left that produced the score for Mendoza and Arel Campoy, closed the attack with a double that boosted a pair.
The last three scores for the home team came in the fourth down. With the bases loaded, Yadir Drake grounded out that generated Emmanuel Avila’s deflected throw to first and emptied the bases.
In the eighth base, 18-year-old outfielder Christian Lucero took his first shift in the ARCO Mexican Pacific League (LaMP), against right-hander Adrián González. Lucero hit a strong ground ball that Arel Campoy caught diving, but he threw it, he did not beat Lucero’s career and in this way, the native of Santo Domingo, Baja California Sur, was credited with the first hit of his career.

For Tomateros, the defeated José Luis Bravo (2-3) started. The relief team behaved very efficiently, since between Geovanny Zamudio (3 1/3 EL), Amilcar Gaxiola (3 1/3 EL) and Aldo Nuño, they only allowed two hits without an earned run, for one base and nine strikeouts.
Of the nine chocolates in the relay, six went to the left-handed Gaxiola, who pitched with the cherries for the first time since December 25, 2019.
This Saturday, Tomateros faces the Yaquis again, with Manny Barreda as the designated starter. The locals will send Faustino Carrera, in a duel agreed for 5:10 p.m. in Sonora and Sinaloa.
