The inauguration ceremony of the new tatamis took place in the presence of the president of the departmental council, Bruno Faure, Edwige Zanchi, mayor of Mauriac, the president of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Cantal and president of the Cantal Judo Committee , Romain Jammet.

A club based in Mauriac and Pleaux
“This new thicker area, with four combat zones, makes it possible to envisage training in complete safety and the organization of an interclub meeting. If we can inaugurate this new facility, we owe it to the commitment of our financial partners by our side, such as the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the departmental council, the town hall of Mauriac, the town hall of Arches, but also to all of our private partners. We can also mention the support of the city’s sports department with Béatrice Cartayrade, assistant delegate for sports and tourism, Céline and Solène as well as the technical services agents who always respond favorably to our requests. »
The club was also able to take advantage of equipment loan of 64 m 2 of carpets for the new section of Pleaux thanks to the help of the departmental committee dear to the president, Romain Jammet and the vice-president, Cédric Lalle.
The co-presidents, who recalled that the club had reached one hundred licensees, welcomed the investment of the volunteers as well as the teachers, Sébastien Coetmeur and Jordan Luis and all the judokas, who obtained promising results in their categories whether at regional or national level.
It was then time to discuss future projects such as badges for the youngest, equipment (JudoGi and bib for teenage competitors), the purchase of teaching materials for Mauriac and Pleaux and, icing on the cake, the will to take young people to the Paris 2024 international tournament, the last selection tournament before the Olympics. Then came the handover to Antoine Glorieux (read below) of his first dan.
