The Chamartín Tennis Club hosted the IBP Master 2022. In the tournament, the 8 best classifieds of the IBP Tennis Circuit and 4 WCS participated, two of them were the champions of the RPT-Marca Junior Cup Circuit and young promises, the third was awarded to the champion of the LII Guillermo Bertrán Trophy and the last one was awarded to one of the players belonging to the Chamartín Tennis Club. Among the participants stood out players such as Enrique López Pérez, David Pérez Sanz, Francisco Javier Martínez Baena, Miguel Damas, María José Luque Moreno, Esther López and Marina Benito.
The Master was accompanied by activities programmed by the IBP Tenis team and the Chamartín Tennis Club. On Saturday the 19th in the Chamartín Tennis Club auditorium, a conference was given by Emilio de Villota and on behalf of the María de Villota Legacy. “Life lesson” is the title of the presentation, which reflected on the values that were the DNA of María de Villota throughout her personal and professional life and that are part of the principles of the IBP Tennis Circuit.
On Sunday 20 and prior to the celebration of the finals, a Clinic was organized by the tennis school of Club Chamartín (Alantenis) with the support of Nara Seguros. It was a unique experience for the children who were able to get closer to the sport of tennis at the hands of former professional tennis players such as Dani Muñoz de la Nava and Quino Muñoz.

Once the Clinic was over, and with the Chamartín Tennis Club packed with spectators, the finals began. In the men’s category, Enrique López Pérez and David Pérez, two tennis players with extensive professional careers, faced each other. Enrique López Pérez, champion of the IBP Tennis Master 2021, managed to defeat the number one in the Circuit, David Pérez, by a result of 6-3 6-1.
In the women’s category, there was a great battle of almost three hours where María José Luque won her first IBP Tennis Master’s title in a tight third set against the Catalan Esther López (6-2 4-6 7-5). The good weather conditions and the high level in both categories made the day an absolute success.
Prior to the awards ceremony, Adolfo Blanco, deputy director of the IBP Tenis and Antonio Martínez, legendary player and coach within national tennis, recognized Ernesto Vázquez for his tennis career, for having been the first champion of the Guillermo Bertrán Trophy and for his work in support of national tennis.
In addition, as part of the values of the IBP Tennis Circuit and in collaboration with MAE Sport & Education, Greenset and IBP Uniuso, 3,000kg of food was delivered to the entity “Hogares María de Villota”.
At the prize-giving ceremony, the winners received a check for €3,000 and the runners-up one for €1,500. Among those present at this important event, the Board of Directors of the Chamartín Tennis Club, represented on this occasion by Nicolás Ramos, the president, and David de Pablos as member. The sports director of the Chamartín Tennis Club, Chema Iñigo, together with Francisco Blanco, president of the IBP Tennis Circuit and other members of the IBP Tennis team such as Quino Muñoz, Dani Muñoz de la Nava and Adolfo Blanco.
