Legendary Brazilian soccer player Pelé has cancer and his condition is getting worse. Therefore, he has to spend Christmas in the hospital, but his family spends the Christmas holidays with him. One of his daughters posted a photo from the hospital.
Because of his illness, Pelé has to spend the Christmas holidays in the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo. His family also spends the holidays with the three-time world champion.
His daughter Kely Cristina Nascimento shared a photo from the hospital on her Instagram profile of her hugging her father. The picture also shows Pelé’s granddaughter sleeping on the couch.

“We continue here in the fight and in the faith. one last night” writes Pelé’s daughter under the post.
The hospital provided an update on Pelé’s condition earlier in the week, saying he now needs care for heart and kidney dysfunction.
”Edson Arantes do Nascimento, who has been admitted since November 29 for chemotherapy of a colon tumor and treatment of a respiratory tract infection, shows progression of the oncological disease and requires increased care related to kidney and heart dysfunctions,” says the medical staff according to the Daily Mail.
