the Paralympic dream of baseball

Two consecutive Italian titles. And above all, the ability to dream and look into the future. And imagine taking part in a Paralympic competition.

It is the story, which borders on fairy tales, of Lauro Lanzarini’s Fortitudo White Sox and of the Italian baseball association for the blind, of which Alberto Mazzanti is president. Mazzanti and his collaborators, who have taken up the baton left by Alfredo Meli, want to bring baseball for the blind into the Paralympic program. To do this, however, I have to conquer other continents, convince other nations of the goodness of their project.

Meanwhile, the Fortitudo White Sox earned, with full merit, the second consecutive championship. And to raise funds – it’s not a rich sport – here’s the idea of commemorative stickers.

“The solidarity sticker Celebrative Sticker #31 is dedicated to the Fortitudo Bologna White Sox – say the organizers -. The primary purpose of the solidarity stickers project created by Figurine Forever, even before that of fundraising (always important anyway), is to use the charm of a sticker to tell stories, about sport and often much more, in the case of the celebratory sticker series. Through the solidarity sticker, we tried to give an idea of the speed, precision and potential of the players”.

An idea, that of Emiliano Nanni, president of the Figurine Forever association, which also met with the favors of an icon of Italian baseball (and Fortitudo) such as Alberto ‘Toro’ Rinaldi.

The Celebrative Sticker #31 is available at the Figurine Forever headquarters at the Edicola Birra in via Triumvirato 34c.
