An international experience – specifically in Hungary in Pecs, traditionally one of the points of reference for pink basketball on a continental level – capable of strongly growing the rossoblù nursery.
The ‘spurious’ group (with respect to the tricolor federal regulations) of the under 16 La Molisana Magnolia Campobasso will embark by plane from Rome on Thursday for the Magyar land, which will be involved in a category tournament between Friday 13 (one match) and Saturday 14 (one match in the morning and the other in the early afternoon) on the central field of the Mittle-European town.
ROSTER TO TEN The group entrusted to the technical care of coach Francesco Dragonetto will be made up of ten elements, namely Emma Jackets and Francesca Baldassarre, the two prospects of the Campobasso nursery in the Italbasket under 16 tour, as well as always from quarry rossoblù Giorgia Sammartino and Claudia Di Quinzio (in the winning quartet of the last Coni basketball 3×3 trophy, and again Paola Mascia, Alessandra Rizzo, Sara Santillo, Francesca Del Colle, Beatrice Splendido and, thanks to the synergy with San Raffaele Roma which Karol Pugliese immediately made himself available in the face of the call of #fioridacciaio.
GROUP AT WORK Since Sunday – immediately after the Christmas break – the team has been working hard at the Arena to try to arrive at the appointment with the international quadrangular scheduled between Friday and Sunday in the best conditions. In front of them the magnolias – on the central field of the event – will find the Magyars of the Ratgeber Academy (deux ball at 3.30 pm on 13 January in theopening game event), as well as the Belgians of the AWBB Training Center in Brussels (the day after at 11) and the Slovenians of Zkk Cinkarna Celje (again on the 14th at 14.30).
The other races involving the other three competing teams will be at 6pm on Friday, 6.30pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
«At first – explains coach Dragonetto himself – Barcelona should have been there too, but beyond this, challenging Magyar, Belgian and Slovenian formations, which have always been in sight in pink basketball, represents a good experience for us, besides that an opportunity for growth, as well as an important exam for many of them in view of the composition of the under 17 group for next season».
POTENTIAL EXPECTATIONS Specifically, for the #fioriellinidacciaio trainer, the Magyar appointment «will be an opportunity to experience a different physicality from that of the Italian tournaments and will also represent a fundamental step for what will be the continuation of the season».
FULL APPROACH Trying to go beyond a few physical problems – Santillo is solving problems with an ankle for example – the #fiorellinidacciaio will also have three matches up to the eve of departure (two for under 17s and one for under 15s) in which to have an opportunity to game before departure for Hungary.
