Jegun. SAJ basket: a significant turnover in the staff

Recently, the president of SAJ basket, Patrick Despax, opened the general assembly in front of the members of the club. For the latter, the year 2021-2022 has been rich in events and movements within the club. “Between the two seasons, we had a lot of coaching departures. Florian Delpech wanted to step back, we thank him for his work within the club. Guylain Despax, too, wanted to take a step back, leaving the team II in the region, despite the difficulties following the Covid. Damien Gousseff has also left for another challenge. For the girls’ team I, Jean-Luc Clet wished to step back. He is replaced by a duo made up of Pape Gadiaga and Lilian Despax”, explains Patrick Despax. On the other hand, “the numbers have remained stable with a few choice reinforcements. The boys’ team I has been taken over by a small club member, Romain Bouzigon, while the boys’ team II is now in the hands of Yoan Franquet” , continues the president of SAJ basketball.

“For our basketball school, Pape Gadiaga takes things in hand, to do a fundamental thing: the training of our little Crocos. For several years, the club has been training in agreement, with our Castérois friends, the U13s and U15s with an operation that allows our players to evolve at the high regional level. The club is part of the Union Gascogne Basket (UGB) to perfect the training of young talents. Seidou Diallo and Lorys Barrieu do not prove the opposite: the first went to the hopes of Pro A in Fos-sur-Mer, and the second is in the USA”.

Patrick Despax closed the assembly by thanking the leaders, sponsors, the general council and the municipality… and by announcing that the club was looking for volunteers to support the SAJ.
