The French BasketBall Federation has unveiled the list of coaches who will lead the young French teams for the 2023 campaigns.
New blood among young people. Alain Contensoux (National Technical Director) and Jacques Commères (Director of Performance and the French Teams) have indeed unveiled the list of coaches who will lead the young French Teams for the 2023 campaigns. Regarding the 5×5, Stanislas Hacquard ( U15), Nicolas Absalon (U16), Frédéric Crapez (U18), Lamine Kebe (U19) and Guillaume Vizade (U20) are in place for the men’s teams. Among the women, Thierry Moullec (U15), Arnaud Guppillotte (U16), Vincent Bourdeau (U18), Julien Elgoff (U19) and Elise Prodhomme (U20) are the appointed coaches.
High performing teams in 2022
Regarding the 3 × 3, which won ten international medals in 2022, the objective will be to continue this good momentum in 2023. For this, the FFBB is betting on Sandra Dijon (U17), Alexandra Arena (U18) and Charlène Colette (U21 -U23) in females. Regarding the French men’s teams, Joffrey Sabard (U17), Anthony Ployez (U18) and Sylvain Maurice (U21-U23) will take their place on the bench.
“In the summer of 2022, the young French 5×5 teams won 5 international medals, a record for the FFBB. The French young 3×3 teams scored 10. These results allow France to appear on the world podium among young people. Training is at the heart of our mission and this place obliges us”underlines Alain Contensoux, DTN within the FFBB. “In a permanent search for performance improvement, at the request of the Federal Office, a long reflection was carried out as soon as the summer came out in order to analyze the evolutions of the game and respond to them in our technical orientations. This debriefing was followed by the appointment of the coaches who will lead the 16 young national teams which will compete in the summer of 2023. With an unchanged ambition: to fight for medals in all categories and ensure the renewal of the France A teams. »
