This Sunday an intense day of judo was enjoyed on the island of Ibiza that was held at the Can Coix sports center, on the occasion of the XVIII ‘Festes de Sant Antoni’ Trophy.

First thing in the morning, the judokas of the junior category were put to the test in the Ibiza Championship, in which the winners qualified for the Balearic Championship of this category.

The judokas who will represent Ibiza after obtaining a place for said event are Maria Vicent (-48 kg), Cora Casanova (-57 kg), Marta Sala (-63 kg), Marc Vicent and Aaron Fernández (-60 kg), Joan Cardona (-73 kg), Mark Torres and David Lalayan (-81 kg) and Pablo García (-90kg).

Next, the first kata competition took place in Ibiza with three participating couples from the juvenile category (Under-13), where the couple formed by Herbie Molineux and Juan Costa, from the Gokyo Ryu Club, who performed a demonstration of the ‘Kodomo no Kata’. A competition that over time is expected to have more participants and be consolidated in the kata competitions in the different categories.

Finally, the fourth School Control and a training session of the sports monitoring program for the infant and cadet categories were held, with more than 50 participants.
