ROVIGO – Three weekends of great youth baseball in Rovigo. As has already happened in past seasons, the Winter League, the traditional indoor winter tournament, stops in the capital of Polesine. The Baseball Softball Club Rovigo will in fact organize the three concentrations of the group East Veneto reserved for the Under 12 category, from which the formations called to play for the national trophy at the end of February will emerge. It starts on the weekend now upon us, with the first day of racing at Mozart gymnasium of San Pio X in Rovigo.
The protagonists of this first concentration of the “Winter League Veneto Est – Itas Mutua Trophy” will be the very young Under 12s of Castelfranco and Villafranca, in addition to the number 1 formation of the hosts of theAdriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club Rovigo. First rounds at 9.45 with the match between rossoblù and Castelfrancoto follow the Treviso will face the Villafranca, while the confrontation between the latter and the Rovigo team will end the day at 12.45. All games will be played with a limit of 5 innings or 50 minutes of play, while the final games for first and second place will be played without time limits.
On February 12, the field returns for the second day, again in Rovigo in the Mozart gymnasium. This time the second team of the Adriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club will compete I rovigo and the Under 12’s Palladio Vicenza and Romano d’Ezzelino. On the basis of the classifications of the first two days at home, the decisive matches will be planned for the following weekend: the final day of the “Winter League Veneto Est – Trofeo Itas Mutua” is scheduled for 19 February in the capital of Polesine, from which the qualified line-up will emerge at the national finals on 26 February in Bologna.
In the meantime, the city of Bologna will host the Winter League concentration reserved for the Under 14 category on Sunday. The formation of the Adriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club Rovigo is also at the starting line. The winner will enter the next phase scheduled in Trento.
