The Latvian national team won the second place in the team relay in the luge sport of the sixth round of the Junior World Cup (JWC) on Saturday at the Austrian track in Bludenc.

Zane Kaluma finished second behind the German Antonia Plechmane in the first stage, while Kaspar Rink overtook his German competitor Marco Leger.
In the decisive stage, the duo Raimonds Baltgalvis/Krishjanis Brūns lost to the Germans Moritz Jäger and Valentin Steidt.
Germany finished in one minute and 41.075 seconds, 0.182 seconds ahead of Latvia.
Third place in the four-team competition was taken by Slovakia, which lost 4.596 seconds to the winners, while Ukraine finished fourth.
It has already been reported that Viktorija Ziediņa/Selīna Zvilna and Marta Robežniece/Kitija Bogdanova celebrated their double victory.
In the men’s crew competition, the duo Rinks/Vitalijs Yegorovs took the second place, while Baltgalvis/Brūns took the fifth place.
In the men’s competition, Rinks won, Roberts Dreimanis took 14th place, and Alexis Sinilnikovs took 17th place.
For women, Kaluma placed seventh.
This competition ended the Junior World Cup season.
The Latvian Luge Sports Federation (LKSF) reports that the Latvians Ziediņa and Zvilna won the women’s crew competition with 491 points, while Robežniece/Bogdanova finished in second place with 427 points.
In the men’s crew competition, Rinks/Egorovs took second place with 480 points, while Baltgalvi and Brūns won 267 points and fifth place during the season.
World and European junior champion Rinks ranked second for singles with 491 points.
German Marco Leger was first with 510 points, while Austrian Noah Kallan finished third with 300 points.
Dreiman’s 134 points gave him the 15th place, and Sinilnikov’s 45 points – the 33rd position.
In the women’s competition, Kaluma ranked seventh with 226 points, while Franceska Bona had 96 points and 20th place.
Latvia finished in second place in the team relay with 340 points.
First place went to Germans, third to Ukrainians.
Previously, young athletes competed in one stage of the World Cup with a full competition schedule. Starting this season, 19- to 21-year-old lugers compete in the Junior World Cup, while 14- to 18-year-old athletes compete separately in the Continental Cup.
