PSG: Kimpembe back in collective training

There was not only bad news this Thursday for PSG. While we learned of the estimated three-week unavailability of Kylian Mbappé, victim of a left thigh injury, and that Sergio Ramos was undergoing examinations after his premature exit from Montpellier for dizziness and an adductor problem, the club was able to highlight positive information: the return to collective training of Presnel Kimpembe.

“A pleasure to see you back on the pitch,” said PSG on its social networks. It is true that this is an important step for the central defender.

His last appearance dates back to November 13, during the match against Auxerre, where he had tried to play despite tendinopathy in the right Achilles tendon. The next day, he withdrew, with regret, for the World Cup in Qatar when he had been called up by Didier Deschamps.

After digesting this hard blow, Kimpembe multiplied the care. And took his time to guard against any risk of relapse. After resuming individual training, he is now able to take part in collective sessions. It remains to be seen whether this will allow him to return in time for the Champions League meeting against Bayern Munich on February 14. Considering that he will be too fair for Toulouse on Saturday, Christophe Galtier will have two games left – Marseille in the Cup and Monaco – to see if it is possible to give him some playing time in competition.
