In competition at Marvejols, the archers showed their talent

Very well received by the organizing club, Les Archers de la Fare, the archers from Sévéragais, brilliantly shot good arrows in the Ranquet gymnasium in Marvejols. Even if it was necessary to combine with the coldness of the fingers and a lighting which was not the best, a hundred passionate archers, coming from the clubs of Lozère, Rodez and Saint-Affrique, were there.

A selective competition for the French championship

At the target on a coat of arms of 80 cm in diameter, or 60 cm, or 40 cm or on three spots according to the categories of ages and weapons, the concentration had to not fall asleep to succeed and have fun. . From a firing point placed at 18 m and 20 ends of 3 arrows applied, accompanied by sharp adjustments, novices and regulars gave each other “wow” but also “beuh”.

Around noon, generous applause with regard to the faultless management of the event, was addressed to the trio of referees composed of Michel Moll, Jean Claude Jacques and the trainee referee Fabrice Veck.

The results of this indoor competition, selective for the French championship and support of the Lozère Departmental Championship are: in conventional weapons, in U 15, Gaëlle Père ranks 8th and Malo Lamerant 6th. In the U 18 category, Anthony Magne 10th. In senior 2, Laurence Minion is 3rd, Vincent Hay 2nd and David Vincent 6th.

And, as in the Rodez competition, Simon Hay, U 18, is 1st with his compound bow (or ranked 12th in the regional ranking).

The next meetings, including the long-awaited club outfit, are scheduled for Saint-Affrique on March 25 for the U 11s and in Sévérac on May 7. Then, it will be the turn of the Young Departmental Challenge in Luc-la-Primaube on May 13, in Baraqueville on June 3 (3D shooting course) and in Salmiech its final on June 18. The Fête de la Montagne at the Laguiole resort will decline, on June 25, the practice of archery for all with the involvement of the club.
