“It’s going to move like never before” as part of Spring Break in Ville de Saint-Georges, when more than 25 activities will be offered mainly from March 4 to 13.
The Recreation and Culture Department has prepared a multitude of opportunities to get active. Skating, skiing, snowshoeing, workshops, exhibitions, storytelling, conference, parent-child sports day, are just some of the activities that will be held during this week.
Cultural activities
At the Marie-Fitzbach cultural center, workshops on greeting cards, cyanotype on eco-bags, painting and dry pastels, initiations to scrabble and music and exhibitions will be offered. The library will hold a science fiction workshop, story hours, a conference and the Minilitous activity.
It will move
Among the sporting activities, young and old alike will appreciate the return of “glow skating”, a colorful skating session. The URLS mobile sports equipment unit will stop at Veilleux Park on March 11 and 12 to lend various sports equipment, free of charge. On March 4, go to Parc des Sept-Chutes for a foam snowball fight like in the War of the Toques. During the same day, a mini-adventure course will be set up in Sept-Chutes park, while technological workshops will be held at the Alfred-Leblond pavilion for lovers of virtual games and Lego.
Ski center and free activities
The Saint-Georges ski center will hold 10 consecutive theme days. Skiers will be invited to dress up, take part in quizzes, enjoy musical entertainment or indulge their sweet tooth during a sugar shack day.
Several free activities will also be available, including skating at the Carpe Diem space, on neighborhood ice rinks and at the Lacroix-Dutil sports center, free swims at the Saint-Georges multipurpose swimming pool, badminton and fun courses. .
