Latin, English and badminton in the classroom to train the young people of tomorrow

Conversation with native English teachers, Latin and French courses, badminton, rugby, yoga and psychomotricity lessons. The Federico Fellini comprehensive institute of Tavazzano and Sordio offers its students cutting-edge educational paths, both curricular and extra.

The principal Simonetta Cimento illustrates them, starting from the zero-cost proposals for families: «Thanks to funding from the municipal administrations of Sordio and Tavazzano, which have allocated 18,000 and 20,000 euros respectively, we have started a project with a native English, who will support the titular teacher for one hour a week in middle school and in the last two years of primary school and, always for the same time but in a limited number of weeks, in the lower classes. The idea is to develop a path from childhood to eighth grade that culminates with the British Institute A2 certification, recognized at European level».

Also thanks to the contributions allocated by the Municipalities of Sordio in Tavazzano (therefore free for families), the school has launched a series of activities focused on the physical well-being of the students: «For primary school children we offer yoga and, for first and second and kindergarten, psychomotor skills – continues Cimento – this is to enhance motor activity understood as psychophysical well-being. In fact, the teachers encountered difficulties from this point of view in the children due to the arrest dictated by the pandemic and the distancing that they had to maintain for a long time once they returned to the classroom. We then enriched the training offer with activities such as rugby and badminton, to allow kids to experiment with different sports and perhaps discover skills they didn’t think they had».
