To what extent has the closure of its third southern tray become the first political strategy of an electoral year that will not give up? Why hasn’t progress been made in all these years with the expansion projects? Does the interest of the partner or the leaders take precedence?
Today, once again, the postcard of an empty gallery will update a debate that will continue in a few weeks, when the club presents a bill to rezoning that part of the neighborhood in the Buenos Aires Legislature.
It will perhaps be the first step in an old campaign promise made by President Jorge Amor Ameal, who always emphasized that his only expansion option is that of Bombonera 360. However, this project – which establishes the construction of a fourth perimeter tray in addition to the replacement of grandstands in the place of the current boxes – has an impediment: around 35 owners of the 129 units to be purchased in the two half blocks located in the radius of Iberlucea, Aristóbulo del Valle, the Zolezzi passage, Pinzón and Brandsen do not want to sell.
Rubén Lopresti, a neighborhood reference for the frontistas on Iberlucea street, reminds PROFILE that several years ago, he and several other people were summoned to a meeting with Ameal. In addition to being a neighbor, Lopresti is a fan and partner of Boca.
