134 athletes will represent Chaudière-Appalaches at the Quebec Games

SPORTS. The Chaudière-Appalaches region will be represented by 134 athletes at the 56th Quebec Games Final to be held in Rivière-du-Loup from March 3 to 11, 2023. They will be accompanied by 49 coaches, guides and missionaries, which brings to 183 the number of regional representatives present at these Games.

The territory of Beauce will be represented by 34 athletes, including 17 from the MRC Beauce-Sartigan and 15 from the MRC Nouvelle-Beauce. The two representatives of the MRC Robert-Cliche are Charline Bourque and Métis Couture, both from Saint-Alfred and registered in the discipline of judo. Les Etchemins will have a single representative. This is Élody-Ann Veilleux from Saint-Benjamin. She is one of the players on the women’s hockey team.

The sports will be divided into two competition blocks. On March 3, 69 athletes will take part in the opening of these long-awaited Games. In the following days, they will compete against the other 18 regions in women’s curling, gymnastics, weightlifting, women’s hockey, figure skating, speed skating, diving and taekwondo.

Starting March 7, it will be the turn of the 65 participants in block 2 to take to the stage in badminton, boxing, men’s curling, men’s hockey, judo, ringette and cross-country skiing. Their stay in Bas-Saint-Laurent will conclude on March 11 with the closing ceremony.
