For the first time this season, the NBA will present an award for the best player in crunch time. This is of course highly subjective, but the numbers show that there should be a very clear favorite at the moment.
But first a few basics to understand this ranking. The NBA defines “clutch” as the last five minutes of a game when the difference between two opponents is five points or less.
Most of those games have come from Miami (48 clutch games), Utah (45), and Dallas (43), while the Milwaukee Bucks have the best win rate in such games (78 percent, 25-7). The San Antonio Spurs (23, 8-15) have played the fewest close games, and they also have the worst success rate in such cases.
