First day of fighting on Saturday, March 18th: start of the Judo Bundesliga season

Karlsruhe. The Judo Bundesliga starts the new season on Saturday, March 18th. “In terms of sport, the past year was once again challenging,” says Nicole Saam, President of the Budo-Club Karlsruhe: “Our women’s team, which consists mainly of our own junior staff, fought in the first Bundesliga against three overpowering teams that afford international top stars , very neat. Since the German Judo Federation – also as a result of our intervention – has reformed and expanded the women’s Bundesliga, there will finally be more equal opportunities in the coming season.”

The women from the Budo-Club Karlsruhe now have home rights twice, which also applies to the men in the second Bundesliga. “They defended their title as second division champions with flying colours, but will not yet fight in the first division,” said Saam. “On the one hand, that would be a financial adventure that would be almost impossible to cope with, and on the other hand, our young fighters should gain experience in the second Bundesliga, which will then also allow them to survive in the first division.”

on the first day of the fight Saturday March 18th, the women have home rights and receive the JC Wiesbaden. The start of the fight in the “Alte Reithalle” at Blücherstraße 15 is at 5 p.m. A special highlight in the fight calendar is June 24th. Then there is a double fight day in the “Alte Reithalle”. While the women receive VfL Sindelfingen, the men fight against the “Isarfighters”.
