Coyotes overtake CH

The Arizona Coyotes passed the Montreal Canadiens in the overall standings on Sunday night with a 5-4 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild.

The troop led by André Tourigny now has 59 points, one more than that of Martin St-Louis. The Coyotes thus dethroned the CH from 27th place. They did, however, play one more game.

Clayton Keller settled the debate with his 29th goal of the season and his second of the game. To see here:

Barrett Hayton (two goals, two assists) also stood out with four points, while Brett Ritchie had a goal and two assists.

Wild starting goalie Filip Gustavsson has already looked better, giving up five times on 23 shots.

His vis-à-vis, Karel Vejmelka, made 30 saves. He was foiled successively by Mats Zuccarello, Ryan Reaves, Matt Boldy and Connor Dewar.

The Canadiens could reclaim their spot in the standings with a win over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Only the Anaheim Ducks (54), Chicago Blackhawks (50), San Jose Sharks (50) and Columbus Blue Jackets (47) had fewer points than them.
