Olemps. Badminton: an encouraging “feminine” first

Recently, but slightly out of step with International Women’s Rights Day, the badminton club innovated by organizing, for the first time, a week reserved exclusively for women, these gentlemen being invited to go and train with the neighbors of the Monastery.

The aim of this particular week was to highlight women’s sport (women’s badminton represents 36.7% of the workforce both at departmental level and at the Olemps club) but also to create links and potential new duos between players. . The clubs of Rodez, Le Monastère and Baraqueville were therefore invited to share two free play times on Tuesday 14 and Thursday 16. For this experiment, around fifteen players took part in training on Tuesday and around twenty in training on Thursday. Only the Rodez club did not send any players, too bad…

In any case, these evenings were greatly appreciated and President Sylvain Barré-Perzin, who welcomed the participants, has every intention of repeating the experience.

The next event organized by the club is a snowshoe day in collaboration with the tennis club and the ping-pong club of Olemps on Sunday 23 April.
