Ilham and Emanuel Win in Thailand, Give the 77th Birthday of the Indonesian Air Force

Pathum Thani

Two Indonesian Air Force soldiers, Ilham Leoisa and Emanuel Nahak, gave gifts for the 77th anniversary of their unit. They won in Thailand.

Ilham and Emanuel competed in a non-title fight at Singmanassak Muaythai School, Pathum Thani, Sunday (9/4/2023) evening WIB. This fight coincides with the birthday of the Indonesian Air Force which falls on the same day.

Ilham took on Chaiyarat Sawangsoda and played disciplined and tactically since the first round. A boxer with the rank of Chief Soldier throws a lot of jabs since the first round.

In the second round, Ilham began to gather in the second round and dominated his opponent in the third round. Entering the fourth round, Chaiyarat began to falter and was overwhelmed by Ilham’s combination punches.

Ilham’s straight left and right hooks repeatedly landed in a landslide and made Chaiyarat falter. In the final 20 seconds, the Thai boxer was pushed against the ropes but the bell still saved him.

Ilham immediately launched a combination of punches at the start of the fifth round. Ilham’s right hook knocked Chaiyarat down. Referee Sirimongkhon Iamthuan stopped the match after Chaiyarat could not get up after a count of 10.

With this victory, Ilham now has a fighting record of 12 wins (10 KOs), one defeat (one KO), and one draw.

“First, we want to dedicate this victory to the Indonesian Air Force, which celebrates its 77th anniversary today. Even though this is a non-title match, I am very happy to win this match. This result will be the capital for the next match, which is sure to be even tougher. I believe XBC Sportech has prepared the next fight for me,” said Ilham in a press release detikSport.

Meanwhile, Emanuel, who faced Chanon Sonkham, immediately attacked from the first round. Hard punches always lead to the opponent’s body.

Chanon had fallen, but the referee did not give a count because he judged that the Thai boxer had fallen due to slipping.

In the second round, Emanuel again dominated his opponent. One left hook to the body made Chanon collapse even though he was still able to get back up. This soldier-ranked boxer didn’t give his opponent a chance to breathe and carried out a combination of attacks until Chanon collapsed again, so he couldn’t continue the duel.

Emanuel can improve his fighting record to six wins (three KOs), three defeats (one KO), and one draw.

XBC Sportech CEO Urgyen Rinchen Sim praised the boxers’ performance. He has also prepared the next fight for Ilham and Emanuel.

“Ilham and Eman appeared extraordinary. This result is their best offering for the Indonesian Air Force, which celebrates its 77th anniversary today. After this, Ilham will defend his title and Eman will face tougher opponents. So, just wait,” said Sim.
