It was the Stampace-Marina district of Cagliari that opened the games: the new edition of the District Cup has officially begun with football matches and running races. The event promoted by the Carlo Enrico Giulini Foundation e Cagliari Calcio – Be As One (in partnership with USR Sardegna, ASD Marabadminton, MSP Sardegna, Sport e Salute and with the contribution of Fondazione di Sardegna) has the objective of developing friendly and supportive knowledge networks, transmitting and enhancing the most positive aspects of sport in all its forms. Great participation in the first day of meetings: 130 girls and boys divided into the categories 11-13 years and 14-16 years faced each other with fair play and desire to have fun, bringing out the true values ​​of the competition. The ex rossoblù is a special guest Beppe Tomasini, who posed for the usual photo and was admired by young people, many of whom had already had the opportunity to know him thanks to the stories of grandparents or parents. The 2023 District Cup will see over 450 athletes from four Cagliari districts and as many municipalities (Assemini, Elmas, Maracalagonis, Sinnai) compete over the next few weeks. The teams which, after having competed in the five scheduled disciplines (badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, relay) will pass the preliminary rounds, will access the final at the Unipol Domus.
