Government congratulates Mexican archery women for winning the Grupo Milenio gold medal

The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, sent congratulations on behalf of the Federation to the Mexican women’s archery team, which won a gold medal at the World Cup, held in Turkey.

In the morning conferencethe official celebrated that the Mexicans have emerged victorious against China on the first date of the 2023 World Cup serial, which was held in Antalya.

​“Good news for the sport, congratulate the archery team that won China. It is made up of Aida Román, a history of archery, she is an outstanding professional, an outstanding athlete and a world example in that discipline, Angela Ruiz and Alejandra Valencia, are the other members of the team, from here the congratulations ”, she said.

The Mexican archers became champions, after whitewashing, with a score of 6-0, the representative of China, which was made up of the two world medalists Zhang Mengyao and An Qixuan, as well as Hai Ligan.

On his way to the maximum medal, the Aztecs defeated the host team Turkey 5-3 in the round of 16; the same score by which they defeated their Italian counterpart in the quarterfinals; and already in the semifinals, they beat the representatives of Spain 6-0.

Thanks to this golden metal, Mexico concluded its participation in this fair with two medalssince Ana Hernández León, Andrea Becerra Arizaga and Dafne Quintero García took bronze in the women’s compound bow team.
