Is he already returning to Spain?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (33) only switched from FC Barcelona to Chelsea last September. At the England club he met coach Thomas Tuchel (49), with whom he had already worked in Dortmund.

A few months later, however, the football world looks very different. Tuchel was fired at Chelsea and is now a coach at Bayern. Aubameyang no longer played a role under Tuchel’s successor Graham Potter and Chelsea’s current coach Frank Lampard is also more likely to rely on other storm competitors.

A summer escape from Aubameyang therefore seems almost certain despite a Chelsea contract until 2024. Ex-club Barcelona in particular are still interested in him.

As the English broadcaster “Sky Sports” reports, the Gabonese should be at the top of the list of candidates for the attack. Barça is urgently looking for clippers who can support ex-Bayern star Robert Lewandowski (34).

Aubameyang only proved last season that he can also take pictures in Spain. In winter 2022 he moved from Arsenal to Barça on a free transfer and scored 13 goals in 24 appearances in the second half of the season. After the end of the season Chelsea struck and paid twelve million euros for the striker.

In Barcelona “Auba” should not only have impressed with strong performances. He convinced coach Xavi (43) above all with his appearance in the dressing room. It was only in March that Aubameyang celebrated with his ex-colleagues after Barcelona’s Clásico win against Real Madrid.
