Fluminense won 144 medals in the 69th Brazilian Masters Swimming Championship. Headquartered in Laranjeiras, the competition, organized by the Associação Brasileira de Masters de Natação (ABMN), took place between April 27th and 30th, and had 690 athletes enrolled, 48 of which were tricolors.

The main master swimming competition in the country, the Brasileiro awards, with medals, the first eight swimmers in the individual events, and the three best teams in the relay events. Among several categories, Tricolor won 21 gold, 23 silver and 21 bronze, in addition to another 79 medals. In all, the team added 2,502 points.

The tricolor performance was also marked by record breaking. In the individual events, Marcia Cristina Silva was responsible for the new Brazilian and South American record in the women’s 200m butterfly in the 60+ group (3:18.99), and for the Brazilian record in the 200m freestyle in the same group (2:44.73). In the relay, the tricolors Saul Birman, Carlos Alberto Quadros Coimbra, Luiz Carlos Langsch Marques and Paulo Roberto Moura de Miranda set the new Brazilian and South American record in the men’s 4×200 freestyle in the 320+ range (18:42.57).
